  1. 2 cups of ketchup
  2. 3 tablespoons of vinegar
  3. 1 clove of garlic
  4. ½ cup of water
  5. Salt and pepper

These are your basic ingredients, next are some things you can add in to make it your own secret recipe. Use one ingredient or add a little bit to start with and add more to taste.


  • Orange juice start with about ½ a cup
  • Tomato sauce, paste, or fresh tomatoes
  • Liquid smoke (a little dab will do you)
  • Beer- about ½ a cup
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • Coca-cola about ½ cups
  • Molasses or brown sugar
  • Honey a tablespoon at a time
  • Tabasco, fresh peppers,
  • Louisiana hot sauce

Experiment and have fun creating your very own secret sauce. If you don't get it right the first time, try again.
