Sweet Mustard Chops and Tropical Sunset BBQ Recipes

It's that time of year again! That's right summer is coming so break out that old grill, the lights, and the margaritas and start having some outdoor fun. Your guests will be swarming your grill just waiting to bite into these delicious BBQ recipes. They are so good even the grumpy old man next door will be peeping over your fence looking for a bite

First, is an overnight marinade recipe making it perfect for large get-together's since you can get everything going the night before. Get your chops ready for these special chops

Sweet mustard chops

This recipe makes 4 servings. Approximate preparation time is about 5 minutes

INGREDIENTS

• ½ cup mayonnaise or miracle whip
• 1/3 cup of red wine vinegar
• 4 1 inch pork chops
• 2 teaspoons of all purpose season salt
• ¼ cup of brown sugar
• 1/4 cup of prepared mustard
• A large gallon Ziploc bag of a plastic container with a lid

Combine mayonnaise, brown sugar, red wine vinegar, and all purpose seasoned salt, and prepared mustard in bag or plastic container with lid. Mix well. Wash pork chops and pat dry and place into the bag, shake and toss into the fridge until you are ready to cook them….grill over medium coals covered for 20-25 minutes or until juices run clear.

INGREDIENTS

• One teaspoon of freshly minced ginger root
• ¼ cup of freshly squeezed lime juice
• 2 ½ teaspoons of onion powder
• ½ teaspoon of salt
• ½ teaspoon of ground black pepper
• ¼ cup of teriyaki sauce
• ½ cup of brown sugar packed
• ½ cup of tomato juice
• 1 cup of unsweetened pineapple juice
• ¼-1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (optional) if you want to add some spice to your BBQ sauce

Begin by allowing your ribs to bathe in a tub of unsweetened pineapple juice for two to three hours. This will add flavor as well as tenderize your spare ribs. Next, let's make your sauce. Add all your ingredients into a medium sauce pan and bring to a simmer over medium heat.

Reduce to low heat and continue to simmer your sauce until it begins to thicken. Immediately remove from heat and let cool. Set the sauce to the side for dipping or drizzling.

Now you are ready to cook those ribs! Cook over medium coals and baste with your freshly made Hawaiian sauce. Keep a little BBQ off to the side to provide your guests a tad extra for dipping just in case they want a tad more flavor.
