Bourbon BBQ Sauce Recipes
Bourbon bbq sauce recipes are a wonderful treat to liven up your traditional barbeque sauce.
They add a whole new dimension to the taste of your grilled meat.

For this first recipe you will need:
- ¾ cup of bourbon whiskey.
- Other ingredients include:
- ½ cup of chopped onion,
- 4 minced cloves of garlic,
- 2 cups of ketchup,
- ¼ cup of tomato paste,
- 1/3 cup of white vinegar,
- 2 tablespoons of liquid smoke,
- 1/3 cup of Worcestershire sauce,
- ½ cup of brown sugar,
- salt and pepper to taste.
Sauté the onions and garlic in the bourbon until the onions are transparent. Then add the remaining ingredients, stir together well and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Baste your favorite meat prior and during cooking.
You can use any bbq sauce recipe and add ½ cup to an entire cup of bourbon to the recipe to enhance the flavor of the barbecue sauce.
You will enjoy using bourbon as a new flavor for many of your favorite bbq sauce recipes. You can also add other ingredients to the above recipe such as:
- green pepper,
- red peppers,
- pineapple chunks,
- Tabasco sauce.

Try substituting the Worcestershire sauce with soy sauce; add ½ cup of pineapple chunks, and 1/3 cup of pineapple juice instead of the vinegar. This will be a yummy recipe that you will be able to say was your own creation for bourbon bbq sauce recipe.
