Cooking Prime Rib Roast on the Grill

Cooking roast prime rib on the grill or barbeque will give your dinner guests something to rave about for weeks after your dinner party.

For this recipe you will need:

  • 2 teaspoons of salt,
  • 2 teaspoons of oregano,
  • 3 teaspoons of onion powder,
  • 3 teaspoons of garlic powder,
  • 2 teaspoons of cornstarch,
  • 2 teaspoons of pepper,
  • 2 teaspoon of bouillon granules,
  • 2 teaspoon of parsley flakes,
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and
  • 1 teaspoon of nutmeg.

You can use this Greek seasoning blend with many prime rib recipes and just include it in the ingredients with the rub or paste. You can store the seasoning in an air-tight container.

Cooking roast prime rib on the grill is really very simple. Here is one easy recipe that you will enjoy preparing. You will need:

  • 1 cup of olive oil,
  • 1 cup of wild cherry Pepsi,
  • 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce,
  • coarse salt and pepper,
  • 1 tablespoon of oregano,
  • 1 teaspoon of thyme,
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder,
  • 2 tablespoons of minced garlic and
  • your prime rib for grilling.

In a large bowl, mix together the wild cherry Pepsi, Worcestershire sauce, coarse salt, pepper oregano, thyme, onion powder and garlic. Place your prime in a large baking pan or roasting pan with a lid. Rub the above mixture over the entire roast being sure to coat well.

Cover and refrigerate overnight. When you are ready for cooking your roast prime rib on the grill, prepare your grill. Preferably use a throw away roasting pan and place your roast in this pan. You should have some ventilation over the grill and not have it completely closed. Cook until desired doneness is achieved.
