Pecan Pie Recipes

Pecans are used for many holiday recipes probably because they are season around Thanksgiving and Christmas in the US.

But, there is nothing better than a homemade pecan pie with a dip of vanilla ice cream on top.

For the traditional pecan pie

you will need the following items:

  • 1 unbaked pie shell,
  • 3 beaten eggs,
  • 1 cup of dark corn syrup,
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla,
  • 1 cup of pecans,
  • 1 cup of pecans,
  • cup of sugar,
  • cup of melted margarine, and
  • a dash of salt.

Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Mix together all ingredients and pour into the pie shell. Bake for 10 minutes at 450 degrees Fahrenheit and then reduce the temperature to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and continue baking for around 30 or until the crust is golden brown.

Another variation to the basic pecan pie is the bourbon pecan pie. This is also a very delicious pecan pie that the entire family is sure to love.

For this recipe you will need:

  • 1 cup of sugar,
  • cup of melted margarine,
  • 3 beaten eggs,
  • cup of light corn syrup,
  • a dash of salt,
  • 2 tablespoons of bourbon,
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla,
  • cup of chopped pecans,
  • cup of chocolate chips, and
  • 1 unbaked pie shell.

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Stir together the sugar and butter until creamy and then add the eggs, syrup, salt, bourbon and vanilla. Stir until well blended. In the pie shell, spread the pecans and chocolate in the bottom and then pour the filling into the shell. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes until done.

There are many different variations of pecan pie that is used all over the world and is enjoyed during almost every holiday season. You can also use other items to create your own unique flavor such as cherries or chocolate to make your own unique pecan pies.

Serving your pecan pie with whipped topping or a dip of vanilla ice cream will delight every guest.
