Low Fat Cookie Recipes

Who doesn’t love to indulge in a few cookies from time to time? But, since you are watching your fat intake you may think that cookies are now off limits.

You can always find low cookies at the grocery store but they are nothing like that home made taste that you crave.

Well, I have good news you can make your own cookies with these low fat cookie recipes and enjoy that homemade flavor again and watch your fat intake at the same time.

This first recipe will have you enjoying the great taste of cookies again in no time.

For this recipe you will need:

  • 2 cups of all purpose flour,
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda, a dash of salt,
  • 1 tablespoons of margarine (check the fat content, you can find some margarines with no fat),
  • of sugar,
  • cup of light brown sugar,
  • 1 egg,
  • 2 egg whites,
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla, and
  • 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips.

Pre-heat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Use a non-stick cooking spray like Pam and coat the cookie sheet. In a large bowl combine the flour, baking soda and salt.

In another large bowl, mix together with a blender on medium speed, the margarine, sugar, brown sugar, egg, egg whites, and vanilla and mix until creamy. Turn the mixer on low speed and add the dry ingredients slowly until blended. Now, add the chocolate chips and with a spoon mix well.

Drop by spoonfuls on the baking sheet using the back of the spoon to slightly flatten. Bake for around 10 minutes or until the edges are lightly browned. Let cool and enjoy.

Peanut butter cookies have always been a favorite and now you can also have low fat peanut butter cookies to enjoy.

For this recipe you will need:

  • 1 can of low fat sweetened condensed milk,
  • cup of reduced fat peanut butter,
  • cup of fat free egg substitute,
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla,
  • 2 cups of reduced fat biscuit mix, and
  • cup of sugar.

Mix together the milk, peanut butter, egg and vanilla on a low speed of your mixer until creamy and smooth. Add the biscuit mix a little at a time on low speed until well blended.

Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 3 hours. Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Use a non-stick cooking spray like Pam on your cookie sheet.

Drop the cookie dough onto the cookie sheet and sprinkle with a bit of sugar and bake for around 7 minutes or until lightly browned.
