A Filet Mignon Steak is a Delectable Treat
Everyone enjoys a fabulous filet mignon steak. But, you may get tired of cooking even oz of filet mignon the same way every time. If so, you came to the right address we feature some fine recipes for you to try and add a personal swing to.
Filet Mignon is Fresh and means something like "Thick Slice". This kind of meat should be prepared quickly, meaning that you should always look out not to overdo it. By nature the taste is more subtle than other cuts. It is therefore very important to sear the steaks and keep the juices in. And whatever you do "DON'T PRICK".
This basic recipe is one on which you can elaborate:
- 4 Filet Mignon Steaks
- 2 tbsp. Minced Garlic
- 2/4 Dry White Wine
- 1 teaspoon Lemon juice
- Salt and Black Pepper
- 3 tbsp. Butter
Make sure that there is no fat left on the edges of the meat. Season the Steak with Salt and Pepper be generous with the pepper but don't overdo it.
Take a large skillet and heat the butter, and add garlic. When the mixture is getting brown add the filet mignon and quickly sear them at both sides. This really has to be done quickly because that's the main trick to keeping the juices in. Cook for about 3 - 4 minutes until medium rare.
Get the filets out of the skillet to the serving platter. We make the sauce by adding a the wine, a few drops of lemon and the flour to the garlic scraping in the skillet.
Pour the sauce over the filets and serve with some salad and (fried) potatoes on the side.
When choosing your filet oz. be sure to look at the mignon color of beef. It should be bright red almost dark red to ensure freshness.
If you are planning a dinner party with a filet mignon roast or even any filet mignon cut you will want to try a more advanced sauce although you always want to be careful with sauce on a delicate meat like filet mignon.
