It can also be enjoy for many other events such as charity events or office parties. No matter what the occasion this  recipe will delight with every morsel.

You will need:

  • 10 pounds of standing rib roast bone included,
  • 8 cloves of garlic slivered,
  • 4 tablespoons of olive oil, and
  • salt and pepper to taste.

Preheat your oven to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. Any exposed ends of the meat should be rubbed with the olive oil. Cut off any excess fat. Cut very small slits in the meat and place the garlic slivers in the slits.

To Make:

Sprinkle the meat with salt and pepper.

In a roasting pan, place the roast with the rib side down. Bake for around 15 minutes or until just brown, and turn the temperature down to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

Bake for one hour, turn the roast over and continue baking for another 40 minutes for a medium rare roast, 55 minutes for medium, and 75 minutes for medium well.

You can cook the roast to your desired doneness. Let stand for a few minutes before carving. You can also serve the juices in the pan along with the meat for a delectable addition.

This is one basic way to prepare a great prime roast. You can use other spices to rub on the roast such as garlic, thyme, or any other spices that you enjoy on your roast.

The trick is to brown the prime rib before really baking it. This browning will help to hold in the wonderful juices of the roast and will also help to keep the roast moist and tender for everyone to enjoy.

And if you like outside cooking, how about a prime roast from you're smoker?
