French Onion Bread - A treat on a Warm Summer Afternoon

French Onion Bread with a Fresh Salad

French Onion bread is a great lunch dish for a sunny Sunday afternoon, is nice and because it's meant to be for leisurely days we kept the preparation simple. Therefore I prefer to use a can of prefabricated French Croissant dough. What we need is:

  • 1 can of French Croissant Dough
  • A few slices of cheese
  • 1 onion
  • some green pepper
  • 1 or 2 eggs
  • a little milk

If you have a bunch of great eaters around double or triple these measures.

To prepare, get the dough out of the can and prepare it according to the instructions on the can. Rol the pieces of dough out and put the cheese and slices of onion on it. Start to roll them up, and add some green pepper powder. When you have the Croissants rolled up and ready, cover them with the egg and milk mixture.

Bake them is a hot oven for about 15 minutes. Serve them warm with some salad on the side. It depends on your activities afterwards but a good glass of chilled white wine is nice.
