Recipes Venison Round Steak

Are you looking for good recipes for venison round steak? Well, the good news is that you can cook venison round steak in the same way that you can cook beef. Venison does not have as much fat throughout the meat as does beef, so the venison round steak may be a little dryer. But, if you use a type of gravy or sauce for your venison steak then that matter is taken care of.

There are some great recipes for venison round steak like this one that uses mushroom soup to aid moistening the venison. For this recipe you will need:

  1. 2 pounds of venison round steak,
  2.  2 packages of Lipton onion soup mix,
  3. 1 chopped onion,
  4. 8 ounces if fresh mushrooms,
  5. 1 family size can of mushroom soup, and
  6. flour.

In a large skillet mix the onion soup mix with of the water they recommend. While this mixture is beginning to heat, roll the venison steak in the flour. Now try the round steak in a different skillet using a small bit of vegetable oil.

When the steaks are ready, place them in the skillet with the onion mixture, and add the mushrooms and onion. When your steaks start to become tender it is time to add the mushroom soup, do not add water, just the soup. Cook for 30 minutes on medium heat.

Recipes for venison round steak like the one above are very easy to create. You can substitute the mushroom soup for any other cream soup, or even tomatoes and V-8 juice. If you dilute the gravy a little too much you can always add flour to the liquid to thicken the sauce.

  1.  Venison round steaks (enough for your guests),
  2. 1 cup of rice,

(You can even use cream of potato soup for a unique and delectable alternative. In a baking dish add the beef broth and 1 cups of water. Spread the rice in the bottom of the baking pan making sure it is even. Place the steaks on top of the rice, and then pour the cream soup on top of the steaks.
