  • 3 pounds of round or chuck steak,
  • 1 can of V-8 juice,
  • 1 tablespoon of tomato paste,
  • a tablespoon of soy sauce,
  • 3 packages of your favorite mushroom and gravy sauce mix,
  • 1 pound of frozen baby onions, and
  • pound of mushrooms.

Mix together the sauce mix V-8 juice, tomato paste, and soy sauce. Now place a layer of frozen onions into the crockpot, a layer of celery, and a layer of mushrooms. Now add of the steak and 1/3 of the sauce. Keep repeating each layer until you are of ingredients. Cook for around 8 hours.

Almost all recipes for Swiss steak in a slow cooker call for tomatoes, tomato sauce or tomato paste.

Some may call for Worcestershire sauce or soy sauce. Try your own favorites to come up with some wonderful creations that your family will enjoy. When you know the basic ingredients you will be able to create a masterpiece for your dinner table all by yourself.
