Filet mignon is considered to be the emperor of steaks and is the best cut of beef you can purchase. It may be somewhat more expensive, but as always you get what you pay for. This tender cut of beef has a texture that will absolutely melt in your mouth.

The filet is cut from the whole tenderloin of the beef which is the most tender part of the cow. When you are using the whole tenderloin is it usually referred to as chateaubriand, but some call it tenderloin meat. Recipes for this filet steak are very delectable and everyone will enjoy the beef flavor.
