Coconut Shrimp Recipes

 Coconut shrimp recipes will have you believing you are enjoying a quiet and tasty meal on the white sand beaches of the Caribbean. These recipes are a great way to taste Caribbean cuisine right in your own kitchen.

Who would not love to try these wonderful shrimp with a hint of a tropical island? These recipes are for coconut shrimp that you fry and create a unique and flavorful meal. For the first recipe you will need:

  • 2 pound of shrimp,
  • 1 cup of cream,
  • 2 eggs and
  • 1 loaf of bread made into bread crumbs or about a half a box of cracker crumbs,
  • ½ cup of grated coconut,
  • salt to taste and
  • oil for frying.

Season the shrimp with the salt and pepper and set aside. Stir together the egg and cream. Combine the bread or cracker crumbs with the coconut. Dip the shrimp into the egg mixture and then roll in the coconut breading. Then fry until golden brown. This is a very tasty and unique fried shrimp recipe that everyone will loveCoconut Shrimp.

Most coconut shrimp recipes are very similar in the ingredients.

This one is very close to the one above as you will see. Only the procedure is different. You will need:

  • 3 pounds of shrimp (peeled and de-veined),
  • 1 egg,
  • 1 cup of milk (you can use cream, like the recipe above),
  • 3 cups of coconut flakes and oil for frying.

Stir together the egg and milk. Dip the shrimp in the flour and then into the egg mixture and then in the coconut flakes. Freeze for about 30 minutes and then fry until golden brown.

Many fancy restaurants also serve coconut shrimp recipes. Red lobster has a great one that many people enjoy every Friday night.

They use bread crumbs, cornstarch, coconut flakes, pina colada drink mix, powdered sugar, spiced rum, sour cream and crushed pineapples.

To create their dish scrumptious dish you will need to combine the bread crumbs, cornstarch, and coconut flakes together. Then use the pina colada drink mix and add with the sugar and the rum and set aside.

Coat the shrimp in cornstarch, then dip in the pina colada mixture, then into the coconut mixture and then again in the pina colada mixture and then one more time in the coconut mixture. Now, deep fry until golden brown. Serve with a sauce made from the pina colada drink mix, sour cream and crushed pineapples.
