Firecracker grilled Alaskan salmon

  • 8 -4 ounce salmon fillets ½ teaspoon of salt
  •  ½ cup of peanut oil
  • 1 teaspoon of sesame oil
  • 4 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons of crushed red pepper flakes
  • 4 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons of ground ginger
  • 4 tablespoons of green onions diced
  • 2 cloves of minced garlic
  • 3 teaspoons of brown sugar

Place salmon filet in a glass-baking dish, then separately mix all ingredients in a bowl and pour over salmon fillets. This will be the marinade, and a good marinade is of critical when you grill fish, and especially salmon.

Let marinade in the fridge for about six hours. Then, it's time to ready the grill.

Fill the grill with coals until they are about 5 inches from the grate and spray with a light oil for grilling such as Pam for grilling.

The salmon fillets should be grilled five inches from the coals for approximately ten minutes per inch of thickness of fillet, or until flaky. While cooking, flip over half way through. Your guest will really enjoy it when you prepare this grilled salmon recipe, add a good chilled white wine and a salad. A perfect dish for a perfect start of the evening.

Dish can be served with rice or a simple stir-fry
