Some people prefer to only serve the breast of the turkey at Holiday meals and you will find that grilled turkey recipes will be a hit in your family.

You can use all kinds of marinades to flavor and tenderize your turkey before grilling. Any acidy liquid such as wine, pineapple juice, and vinegar mixed with your favorite seasonings can be an awesome marinade for your turkey.

Who said you have to have the traditional turkey and dressing for your holiday meals? Be bold and begin your own tradition and use a grilled turkey recipe. Using different recipes will give you more ways to serve turkey during the holidays without being the same old recipe.

Here is one recipe that you family will enjoy.

You will need

  • 2 chopped garlic cloves,
  • 3 tablespoons of apple cider,
  • 3 teaspoons of olive oil,
  • 1 tablespoon of thyme,
  • 3 tablespoons of lime juice,
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce and
  • 1 boneless turkey breast.

In a dish with a lid mix together the garlic, cider, olive oil, thyme, juice and soy sauce.

Preparation of the Bird

Pound the turkey breast with a meat tenderizer until it is about a 2 inch thickness, place in the marinade and leave for 3 hours or longer.

The longer the breast is in the marinade the better the flavor will be because it will have more time to penetrate the meat.

Prepare your grill. Grill the turkey breast 6 inches from the coal and baste with the marinade while grilling. The turkey breast is ready when pierced with a fork the juice runs clear.

You can always barbeque your turkey breast to give your holiday meal a unique flavor of the west or use a Cajun barbeque recipe for that hot and spicy taste.

Now, you have changed the tradition and can add some of your own favorite side dishes and have a new and unique tradition to pass down.

Since, turkey is usually served 2 to 3 times a year, learning new ways to cook turkey will give you an exciting meal to prepare and many of these grilled turkey recipes will save you time from standing over a hot stove in doors to prepare your holiday meals and the entire family will enjoy the change. Grilled Turkey why not?
