Southwestern Stuffing Recipes
Southwestern United States has always been known for their delicious recipes that mix the American culture with that of Mexico. These unique dishes are normally spicy and hot and very wonderful for giving your taste buds a treat. This southwestern stuffing recipe will be great for serving on any holiday occasion and giving your palate a fiesta all of its own. For this recipe you will need 4 hot spicy large link sausages, 2 cups of corn meal, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, 2 cups of buttermilk, 4 eggs, ¼ cup of margarine, 2 cups of cream style corn, 2 cups of shredded Monterey Jack cheese, 8 ounces of chilies, 1 cup of finely chopped onion, ½ cup of coriander, salt and pepper to taste. To prepare you will need to preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Fry the sausages in a skillet until all sides are brown and then cut into ¼ inch slices. In a large bowl, combine the corn meal, baking powder, baking soda, salt and pepper. Next mix in the sausages slices and the rest of the ingredients until well mixed. Pour into 2 greased baking pans and bake for around 40 minutes. Now, you can crumble and stuff your turkey. You can also create another wonderful southwestern stuffing by adding other ingredients to the above recipe such as bell peppers, poblano chilies, corn chips, sage, cilantro, frozen corn, or even Tabasco sauce.
