5 Ways to Organize a Great Christmas Party
Organization may be difficult during the holiday season and you never seem to have enough time to get everything completed on time. If you follow these five ways to organize a Great Christmas Party, everything will go very smoothly and you will be able to enjoy your company. (1) Decide on a party theme first. Give yourself plenty of time to plan what you are doing and how you are doing it. You may want everyone to dress up, perhaps men as Santa and women as Mrs. Claus. The sooner you decide, the sooner you can get started. This will ease you into projects and prepare you should anything go wrong. Decorate your house according to the theme. Send out invitations with enough time for your guests to RSVP. Make sure the correct date and time is printed on your invitations. Entertainment can tie a theme together. Whether you go with a DJ or just a radio with some Christmas tunes, you will get everyone into the same groove and Christmas spirit.
(2) Get your guests involved. You may want to have a pre-party party. This way everyone will have a say on the topics including theme, food, and entertainment. Require guests to bring their favorite dish or decoration. Also have guests take an active roll in the festivities. They can start a game with all the guests. You can have a good time playing “Secret Santa” and everybody wins. How about a piano playing guest getting everybody excited with caroling in the house that spills onto the street? Round up all of your guests and take a trip to help those in need. A visit to a children’s hospital or orphanage will put kindness in their hearts and will help celebrate the true spirit of Christmas.
(3) Your house is decorated per the desired theme. What about the little things? Make sure guests feel welcome. Plenty of mistletoe should do the trick. A nice fire will create a cozy environment and a warm one at that. Have enough Santa hats and reindeer ears to go around. If you are having an intimate gathering with just a few guests, personalized stockings with all the trimmings will make guests feel right at home.
(4) Food and drink are as necessary as your guests. Christmas themed snacks are always a must. A gingerbread house displayed becomes a great centerpiece. It also makes for a great nibble piece for hungry guests. Cookies cut into shapes of Santa, Frosty the Snowman, and the ever popular Christmas tree will never go out of style. While alcoholic beverages are popular (make sure there is a designated driver) not everyone will want them. Have plenty of eggnog on hand and liven up that glass of water with ice cubes colored with red and green food coloring. Should you be having a dinner party, after dinner coffee is always a nice treat. Set up an espresso maker and guests can self serve. If it is hot tea or cocoa they crave, have that there to. Be on the lookout for seasonal varieties of all these beverages. A holiday inspired mug and a cinnamon stick warm you up from those blistery cold nights. Your guests will appreciate the night cap.
(5) Always thank your guests for coming. Do it with a smile and a sincere hug. During all that fun, what is better than having pictures taken? Whether you hire a professional or pass out disposable cameras to your guests on the way in, a picture says a thousand words. Once developed stickers and acrylic paint can be added to date the photo and it can be personalized.
You can then send your guests a thank you card for attending your party and a photo to warm their heart. They will definitely be looking forward to your next party. This article is also available as free chapter of our e-book about the Christmas celebration.
