Veal Parmigiana

Veal Parmigiana is very easy to prepare and your family will enjoy the tender meat and unique spices that make this dish so delightful. You will no longer have to go to those fancy restaurants and pay their expensive prices to enjoy your favorite Veal Parmigiana you will be able to prepare the same delicious dish at home in your kitchen.

For this first Veal Parmigiana recipe you will need:

  • 2 pounds of ground veal,
  • 1 beaten egg,
  • ¾ cup of bread crumbs,
  • 5 tablespoons of grated parmesan cheese,
  • a tad of oregano,
  • a small amount of olive,
  • 1 – 8 ounce can of tomato sauce,
  • ½ pound of shredded mozzarella cheese and
  • salt and pepper to taste.

Pre-heat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. In a shallow dish large enough to roll patties combine the bread crumbs, 3 tablespoons of the parmesan cheese, oregano, salt and pepper. Shape the ground veal into patties and dip into the beaten egg and then coat with the bread crumb mixture. In a large skillet heat the olive oil and sauté the patties until brown then transfer to a shallow baking dish. Pour the tomato sauce over the veal and sprinkle the rest of the parmesan cheese on top. Bake for around 20 minutes or to desired doneness.

Another variation for Veal Parmigiana is the following recipe. For this recipe you will need:

  • 1 finely chopped onion,
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic salt,
  • 1 ounce of tomato sauce,
  • ¼ cup of bread crumbs,
  • 1 egg,
  • a small amount of olive oil,
  • 1 pound of veal steaks
  • pounded very thin,
  • 1 large can of tomatoes,
  • ¼ teaspoon of oregano,
  • ¼ cup of grated parmesan cheese,
  • 8 ounces of mozzarella cheese, and
  • ¼ teaspoon of pepper.

Pre-heat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. In a large skillet heat the oil until warm and sauté the onion until translucent. Add the tomatoes, garlic salt, and pepper. Simmer for around 10 minutes. Now, add the tomato sauce and the oregano and simmer for another 20 minutes. In a shallow dish combine the bread crumbs, 2 tablespoons of parmesan cheese. Dip the veal steaks into the beaten egg and the gently roll in the bread crumb mixture. In another skillet add a bit of olive oil and when the oil is warm add the veal steaks and cook over low heat on both sides until brown. Place the veal in a shallow baking dish when you have achieved desired doneness and then pour the sauce over the veal and top with the mozzarella cheese and then more of the sauce. And top with the left over parmesan cheese. Bake for 30 minutes.
